The Paul Bocuse hoax
Well, I fell for it. First it was a tweet.....then a posting on facebook. And I was instantly saddened...this culinary great was dead.
Paul Bocuse is known really as the father of nouvelle cuisine --- different from the classic cuisine -- heavier sauces, etc....nouvelle cuisine is perhaps lighter in calories, stresses fresh seasonal foods.
He even has a restaurant in Epcot at Walt Disney World.
So I posted on my facebook too that Paul Bocuse had died. Never even thought to check the facts.
So now I am writing here to hopefully right my wrong --- he is definitely still alive. So check your facts folks first. Not everything you hear or read is true.
An old friend that is teaching now at the Culinary Institute of America, who honored Bocuse last year as the Chef of the Century, says they expect Paul Bocuse next year as the CIA is naming a restaurant after him.
Oh gosh, should I check that fact too?
